Las Vegas police break ground on new east valley area command center
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has broken ground on its newest neighborhood police station.
A ceremony was held on Thursday, March 10 at the site of the Hollywood Area Command, located at the corner of Hollywood and Sahara near Las Vegas High School.
The newly established area command provides easier access to police services for residents in the central east side.
Located beside Clark County Fire Station 31 and the Hollywood Recreation Center, the new police station will enhance this community hub, officials say.
The Hollywood Area Command groundbreaking marks a historic milestone for our east side neighborhoods,” said Commissioner Tick Segerblom, Chair of the Clark County Commission.
“This facility has been nearly three decades in the making, addressing a critical need in our community."
Construction is slated to be completed in the Spring of 2026.
